Jesus - How will we recognise you?

In my own journey over the last few years, I have felt Jesus unravelling from all the shackles and posts to which I had tethered him. Freeing Jesus from christians, freeing Jesus from dogma, freeing Jesus from later theology, freeing Jesus from the Bible, freeing Jesus from Christianity. But where does it end?

How do know we have found the Jesus we were looking for?

When all that I can see in Jesus is my own reflection looking back at me?

Surely this is not the way to find Jesus. But all the other ways seem to lead us only to mirrors, shackles and signposts.  The reflections of others seeking their own personal Jesus. Idols held up in the place of God, or as close as we can come to God here outside of eden?
