I was a late, initially reluctant, convert to The Sopranos. I didn’t have space in my head for yet another multi-series TV show with a string of characters and the commitment of allowing characters to get inside your personal thoughts.
But when I finally gave the series a try, Tony Soprano won me over instantly. The brooding, powerful mobster felled, cut down to the size of an infant by something as small as the departure of his favorite ducks.
That’s how you hook a viewer.
